Here are some ideas to create memories for
your baby.
- I bought a special gift box that's about 30cm long x 20cm wide
and 15cm high with teddy bears on it. It contains my hospital tags, the ultrasound, a card
to our baby with a note written in it from us both, a teddy, my baby's first jumpsuit,
dried rose petals from flowers, poems, Memory Certificate from the hospital, booties and a
cap from a friend, a small cross stich my sister made for the box, a card from my nephew,
a Guardian Angel Mother and Child pin, wishing stones, the positive pregnancy test my
Doctor gave me to keep, a pin that says "you are special" is pinned to the teddy
and ribbons and cards received from other people.
- We lost our baby on December 1st 1999. Traditionally I always
put up our Christmas tree on this day so I thought that I would like to go out and buy an
extra special decoration for the tree so that the baby will always be with us at Christmas
times. I picked out a gold angel for the top of the tree and my husband picked out a nice
big train decoration too.
- We purchased a small bench sitting clock that is silver and
has a silver teddy sitting on top of it. We had around the clock face engraved. It sits on our bedside
table.
- Enter your baby into the Book of
Life. This is a book that
that rests between statues at a Church in New York which acknowledges all babies that have
died unborn. A candle is always lit in their memory and all day long people stop
and pray.
Once a month a Mass is held on honor of these children. Your baby does not have to have a
name, you can simply enter in something like "Baby Surname". They also send you
a Certificate.
- Plant a tree, plant or shrub in memory of your child. We
purchased a nice ceramic pot and planted a rose bush that some friends gave us.
