under construction, as are all my pages. Please don't lose
heart if all my links are not working yet. I will try to
have all my links up and running as soon as possible. Please
come back again and check out my changes - and if you would email
me with your opinions of my site I would really appreciate that. Ta!! Cassandra.
Sole Parenting in the 90's
What parenting means to me.
The struggles and trials
and tribulations
of being a sole parent.
The funny bits!!
SOLE PARENTING
Being a sole parent is never easy. I have four children;
Hayley - aged 13, Corey - aged 12, Tamika - aged 9 and
Misty - aged 7. I have been on my own with the four children
since Misty was a baby. In that time I have undertaken
full time
study at a TAFE College, I have successfully run my own business,
I have nursed Corey through two bouts of pneumonia (he was in hospital twice).
I have worked full time in a computer store as a salesperson, receptionist. And I
have run night classes for adults through Adult Education Centres, writing my
own notes, preparing the classes, installing the software on the PC's, etc.
I have a lot of energy and I don't sleep much. My body doesn't need
much sleep. I do most of the work at home myself as my children don't
help me out much - mainly my fault, as it's easier to do the stuff yourself
than to put up with squabbling children, who argue about whose turn it is to
wash the dishes, dry the dishes, prepare the lunches, etc.
My children are very normal children. They have access with their father and
their father and I have always maintained a good friendship, which helps when
we need to communicate about a problem the children are having. I used to worry that
Corey would grow up with effeminate ideas or attitudes through being raised in
a totally female household. No fear there!! He is all male and very normal - naughty,
arrogant, beastly to his sisters, a teaser and annoyer of anyone female in the house.
