Don't forget your chain bookstores like Borders, Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million. They all offer discounts. Some just need to see your ID, I think Borders requires a paystub as well. Cannot do this over the net, must go in person to the stores.

- is giving away free samples of their product. They also have a monthly educational newsletter that you can sign up for.

- has various items to encourage girls to stay on the right track. *I was ready to order all kinds of stuff until I got to the order form. There is only a few items available at one time. They do change these periodically. Most of the pamphlets you can get as a PDF file!
- New York Apple Country
- has a downloadable curriculum including lessons, worksheets and coloring sheets. In addition, you can send away for mini apple posters. This is appropriate for K-6.
- Popcorn!

- provides free stuff to suppliment your lessons as well as free downloads for preschool through 12 grade.
- USS Constitution Museum
- All Hands On Deck is a free curriculum guide and video. They are currently looking for sponsors to reprint the materials, so check back soon.
- Video Placement Worldwide
- Video Placement Worldwide (VPW) offers an ever-growing list of high-quality sponsored educational videos and teaching materials. You must become a member in order to request any permanently loaned videos. The video kits are available at all levels of education from K-College. *I have received many so far. Some were ones that I could use more like a resource. But my favorite, wow, was great! It was from the Jelly Belly company and included jelly beans. You send me free candy, you're on my top 10 list! Only some of the videos are closed captioned. They sent back an email about trying to get more closed captioned.
- Virginia Carolina Peanuts
- March is National Peanut Month. This site has everything you ever wanted to know about peanuts from how they grow to recipes. In addition, you can order materials from grades 6-8, including lesson plans, comic books and posters. K-5 curriculum can be downloaded as a PDF file for free. *Fantastic manipulatives!

- Bread World - Just for Kids
- has great kid recipes that I will use with my students when we bake. They also have free teacher's guide and certificates of achievements.
- California Avocado Commission
- is a fantastic place to learn about the avocado. They have coloring pages, recipes, e-cards and teacher resources (lesson plans and materials).
- Cradleboard Teaching Project
- is a curriculum for teaching Native American Studies. The curriculum is written for elementary, middle and high school. It focuses on Geography, History, Social Studies, Music and Science. I highly recommend their CD, "Science: Through Native American Eyes". It focuses on scientific concepts from within Native American culture (rated for 5th grade and above).
I was fortunate to be able to attend a workshop given by one of the founders of this curriculum, Buffy Sainte-Marie. She was born on the Cree reservation. Most of you probably know her as the Acadamy Award Winner for her song, Up Where We Belong. OR, if you were like me, I remembered her from her time she spent on Sesame Street.
