THE DOWLER FAMILY TREE

William Dowler was born in Sandon, Hertfordshire, England about 1832.  His father JOHN was a farmer, and his mother's name  FANNY (maiden name unknown).

On the 1st August 1855, William arrived in Sydney Harbour on the ship "Lloyds".  The passenger list states that he was a sheperd, and that he could read.

William continued the family tradition of farming, owning the holdings of Diamond Swamp and Tarana near the post town of Tarana near Bathurst, NSW.  He lived for 56 years in NSW, marrying SUSANNAH KERVIN in Kelso, NSW (1862).  They had 13 children:
