God's Creations
precious, beautiful and sacred
are often taken for granted.
Sometimes we need a little reminder
of how amazing our world is.
For a moment, step outside and smell the fresh air;
feel the rays of sun warming your skin;
go to the mountains
and indulge yourself in the majestic beauty.
Watch the beauty of a sunset -
this is His love shining through for the night.
Take time out to nurture a plant or animal;
they will return to you
the love you give them.
Think of how fragile and precious a child is;
Hug a child and feel her love.
Watch as she plays;
everything is new and interesting and beautiful.
Look at things through the eyes of a child:
there is beauty and goodness everywhere.
At nighttime, kiss her and say a prayer with her,
hold her and say you love her,
Tuck her in and watch her fall asleep
feeling safe and loved.
Know that the love of a friend is also one of God's gifts.
Keep the hearts of your friends dear in yours,
and they will always feel
they are special in your eyes.
And remember that when you are ready
to turn in for the night yourself,
you are safe in the arms of the Lord.
You are one of His sacred, beautiful and precious creatures;
So remember to not take yourself for granted;
you appreciate the beauty of His creations,
but also remember that nurturing His creations
includes nurturing you.
You have made a loving difference in His world,
and you can go to sleep at night
feeling His loving embrace.
