These pictures were taken in December 1999, in my hotel room in Dallas, Texas, while preparing to leave for the airport to return home.
When I got back to the hotel after the unsuccessful shoe shopping experience -- if any shopping experience can be called unsuccessful, I called home, and then after checking in with the girls in the Pink Room, and checking my mail at Deja.com's my-deja mailbox, I showered and put my (natural -- now about 6 inches long on top and 3 to 4 inches on the sides) hair up in those pink 1/2 inch foam rollers. I've really got to get a lot more practice and experience in this skill. I also redid my nails with clear polish.
When I awakened, I shaved well, took down the hair and picked it out -- I have to learn to do this better, too. I only applied light makeup -- a little foundation (Cover Girl Clean liquid makeup in Natural Beige) and a natural colored (but pearlescent) lipstick (Le Pearl from a company called Janelle Mignon).
I was getting ready to fly home, but before I left, I had some errands to run. First, I dressed and shot these pictures using the self timer on my camera. Then, off to the nearest Wal-Mart for One-Hour Photo developing.
As I was leaving the hotel, I found myself in the elevator with a co-worker. I stepped to the back of the elevator and looked out the window as we descended. When we got to the lobby level, I suddenly realized the door was opening and he was waiting for me to leave first. So, I turned and left first -- what else could I do? He would have been embarassed if I'd said, "No, go ahead!"
When I got to the Wal-Mart, I couldn't find the one-hour photo lab, so I went back to the greeter (who had smiled nicely at me when I first entered) and asked him (voce male) where I could find it. No unusual reaction from the 65+ year-old gentleman. Following his directions, I still did not find the photo lab, so I walked up to another employee and she told me it was on the other side of the mid-aisle shelves. I'd just been on the wrong side of the "median" shelves. After an hour of shopping where I bought a couple pair of Leggs Smooth Silouettes pantyhose, a "25% more free" bottle of Nair, and a 3x4 inch hand mirror to go in my purse, the pictures were ready. So, back to the hotel to pack and run to the the airport to turn in my rental car and fly home.
The outfit I'm wearing here includes a pretty blouse (the tag says UK 12 US 8) with a deep blue background and thick red, orange, yellow and white blossoms, which I bought from Liberty in London's Heathrow airport earlier this year. The slacks are my Limited side zip flat front stretch pants (size 10) you may see elsewhere (the Orlando pages) on this site.
Pantyhose are Leggs Reliance (D) in Suntan, and shoes from some inexpensive shoe shop in Germany. Foundations (waist nipper) by Maidenform, and (bra (36A) and panties (6) from Fruit of the Loom. Breast forms are the US$30 "enhancers" from the local Eckerd store that you see everywhere. These do a nice job in a 36A bra.
Makeup is only Cover Girl Clean Liquid in Natural Beige, with a natural colored (but pearlescent) lipstick (Le Pearl from a company called Janelle Mignon).
