Some curiosities concerning the surname KUBIS

- Youssef Kubis (a guy from Siria living in USA) told me that his surname comes from the name of the mountain called KUBIS somewhere in Siria - unfortunately I cannot find this mountain on the map, maybe someone knows where it is? I have lost contact with Youssef but hope to find him again;

- there is a travel company KUBIS REISEN in Germany. Is the name of the company coming from the owner surname or have some meaning in German I do not know?;

- there is probably a couple of languages in use in Indonesia and in one of them 'kubis' (I do not know how it is pronounced but it is spelled that way) means 'cabbage'; it is the same in hindu and malaysian;
