Oregon Documentation

Changing your name and gender on your documentation is an important step. Sometimes dealing with the legal paperwork may be frustrating. Hopefully, the information provided here can relieve some of that frustration.

Oregon Driver's License / Identification

Oregon only requires a letter stating that either you have had surgery or you are living full-time. For the first case, the letter can be from "any physician." For the latter case the letter must be from a qualified therapist.

The following list was obtained from the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles.

"The following is a list of qualified therapists as required in this procedure. These therapists qualify because they follow the Harry Benjamin Standard of Care as defined by the Harry S. Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association Standards of Care."
