Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

It was looking like being a lovely day outside but I was doing a Swansea trip so no chance of getting any wood or other outdoor stuff done. At the artificial limb centre I demonstrated how loose my socket is by straightening my arm and letting it fall on the ground, they got the message. So now I'm going to get one made out of a harder material with more around my elbow and of course, another cast had to be made. Next week I'll be back to see if that cast has been successful and the following week the socket can be done. That's the idea anyway. I was also asked if I would be interested in going to a conference and demonstrating a new hand made by Otto Bock. Apparently there's very few people in the country who can operate these things successfully. By the time I left at 3.00 pm it was already darkening and wet again outside.
I was tempted to go down to the industrial estate at Llansamlet but decided to get home and see to the fire with maybe a stopoff in Llandeilo to eat something. I was headed for Mary's Farmhouse but found it in the middle of being redecorated so I just bought a piece of quiche and a bag of crisps at the supermarket and kept driving. Marina was just on her way out when I got here and everybody else went out shortly after so I had a good few hours of peace and quiet and later watched The English Patient on video.
