I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
It seems like there's no end to it, no time to stop at all. It suddenly went cold again today and there was ice and frozen things everywhere but the sun was out and the sky was blue. I thought I'd have time to get some wood down from the field so I left the wheelbarrow up there when I went to feed the horses and then came in to check up on the fire which had been ever so reluctant to wake up this morning. Then Heather caught me on the phone and I realised I needed to just get on and do all the WIT stuff that I needed to do. I'd been dreading it really, several spreadsheets to set up and I haven't used a spreadsheet for years and years. Actually the application wouldn't even load and had to be re-installed before it would work properly. It wasn't as bad as I though it would be and all the numbers did add up and all the right things happened so that was a big relief. Even so what with that and all the other changes and additions I spent all afternoon doing that and it was well past dark by the time I was finished and there was no way I was going out for wood in the dark. |
Luckily that still left me time to get a parcel together which I really need to get in the post tomorrow morning, I don't even know if I'm already too late for posting to Eire, but that's the best I could do. Then it was time for dinner which I was really glad about because I'd been panicing so much about the spreadsheets that I hadn't got it together to eat anything before I started and then it just seemed too late after I'd finished. And then more wrapping....... more wrapping........more and more. I only started yesterday and already I feel like I've been wrapping all my life. |
