I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
Clare phoned through just after the alarm clock had gone off at 9.00 am to tell me that the farrier would be here at 100.00 am, an hour later than planned so I used that spare hour to um... well, I used it to lie in bed for an hour with the cat.
Clare arrived just as I was bringing in more kindling and logs to get my fire going properly and put a dressing on my finger which I'd just mashed up again (yes, the same finger I mashed up with the chuck key) by getting it wedged between a breize block and a log avalanche. We had brought Nelly down to the front when the farrier arrived and inbetween answering Clare's copious stream of questions removed the one remaining shoe that Nelly was left with and gave the rest of her feet some attention with the file. Then Princess came down for her turn and had her bad front foot clipped. She did try and have a lean on him at one stage but overall she did well by at least letting him do what needed done.
I had to go off into town after that and get some food in for dinner. Shortly after I got home Loey arrived to pick up some information I had been surfing for about Canary Islands ferry services and yoga training courses in India. She had a couple more leads to follow up then and by the time she had left I just had a short while to read some of the camcorder and digital photography magazines I had bought before it was time to cook dinner.
Sometimes it seems like I spend all day actually doing stuff but when I look back on the day all I see is the things I didn't get around to, today was a bit like that, I know I didn't just sit around all day but it doesn't feel like I really got that much done either.
