I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

     

The computer was on as soon as I was half way through my first cup of tea. I sat there staring at it, scratching my head in confusion and doing lots of talking on the phone most of the morning and afternoon. There were a few distractions, people coming and going and the farrier was supposed to be here at 2.00 pm and Clare had come round for that and while she was waiting she got out the new lawnmower (that hasn't been used yet) and mowed the front lawn, it looks completely different now. The cat came in with a live bird and when I tried to chase her out again she let the bird go and it lay on its back on the floor and looked doomed, but when I picked it up it didn't seem overtly injured and I took it out to Clare because I didn't have time to deal with it and she fed it rescue remedy and after a while it flew away. There were many distractions but by the time food was put on the table I was able to stop what I was doing. After dinner we sat and watched Feet of Flames on video. That was pretty spectacular although I don't know if I should have sat and stared at a screen all evening to relax after having sat and stared at a screen all day as well. My eyes were hurting by the end of that.
