I started doing this diary in June, it's quite new. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Well... the sun has come out again..to stay...well, perhaps. I have been looking at the weather forecast rather obsessively. Now I'm just waiting for David to phone me back ....two days to go and it's now obvious that the hay will just have to come in without me...or wait.

Got lots of things organised today, booked the car hire then collected photos and did laundry in town before heading off to Carmarthen to do lots of shopping for stuff you can get in Lampeter, like a camera, a haircut and a decent pair of sandals. Actually you can't get a decent pair of sandals in Carmarthen either but I just had to get something to wear on my feet apart from big muddy boots. I couldn't resist a book I saw called Xenophobe's Guide to the Americans because of a paragraph which I will now quote:
Excess body hair is taboo, espcially in females. American women shave their legs and armpits and assume that any hairy-legged woman is a lesbian out to destroy the American Way of Life. [who me?]
The odour of the human body is considered repulsive. Americans like pleasant scents, and douse themselves with perfume. They use deoderant in their armpits (which they delicately call 'underarms'), spray their homes with room freshner, put fuzzy dice with air freshner in their cars, and drape their bathrooms with scented toilet tissue
If this is all true I'm in big trouble... I own neither a razor nor deoderant and wouldn't use either of them if I did.

Dogs had been shut in for a while by the time I got back so I took them out on a nice walk up a forestry track, it was still nice and warm at 7.00pm, I knew this would happen just as I was about to go away. Oh well. Since then I've been scanning lots of pictures and writing up the pages and all the palaver that goes with doing that. If you want my advice (although at this point I can't see why anyone would) if you want to have a life, don't start a website. Anyway....there's a picture of the new pup, a better one of Jade and one of them playing together on the Animals Picture File, and a two part Virtual Tour of where I live. Part One and Part Two. And I wish I hadn't stayed up so late doing it... I needed to be in bed hours ago, I might have to do all sorts of stuff tomorrow.
