my

Bluehooks Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Tuesday 8th September

Today was really the end of camps/festivals... so much so that I have even taken my bands off. Perhaps this means normal life can now resume, but I'm not too sure what exactly normal life really is.

There wasn't a great deal left to do at the site today, just another rubbish removal, shift the rest of the wood and take home various belongings which had been taken there such as the wheelbarrow and shovel. The site was immaculate, there had been no rowdiness, no fighting, no big messes, seems like David and Helen are more than happy to have WIT camp back next year. Heather and Shelly both needed to be towed of the field in their laden cars but by then the mud was so thick and so slippery that I didn't dare risk it, I was having visions of them sliding around on the end of the tow rope and wrapping round the gateposts. So I had to leave them waiting in the field for David to come with his tractor. In the meantime I took another trailerload of wood, destined for Heather's house along with the Fiona and her baby and drove into town where I left the landrover and trailer in the Pioneer back carpark and took Fiona up to town to sample the delights of the New Bridge Cafe. We met up with Clare in there and had a slow lunch while Clare decided which exact shade of green she was going to paint her van. Clare's van's never start out green but they always turn green eventually.

Once I felt we had allowed enough time for David to have come and done his thing with the tractor we walked back to Pioneer and found Heather and Shelly devouring burgers in the other carpark and swapped the trailer onto Heather's car. I then dropped Fiona and the baby down to Pencader and turned for home.

So I'm really back home now and no more excuses. Tomorrow I will actualy deal with and put away the outstanding post which has been sitting there since I got home from the States, I'll write those letters, answer those phone messages and e-mails and even maybe chase up the Artificial Limb Centre about my new arm. Oh yes, I bet I'll do all that tomorrow.
