Please send your North Star Memories
I remember going to a North Star game in the old Met, it was against the Detroit Red Wings.
The Stars won 3 to 2. After the game I got to meet a bunch of the North Star players.
Thanks,
Jake Milliman
I can remember driving into the Met Center parking lot in May of 1981 for the very first Stanley Cup
Finals in North Stars history. It was against the NY Islanders, and I was thinking how lucky I
was to be part of the franchise, and to have such great fans. The lot was already full of
tailgaters revving up for the game.
It doesn't get any better for an athlete. I wish I could go back to that time and remain forever!

I went to one of the last home games before the exodus south to Dallas.
It was against the St. Louis Blues, the Stars were only a few points
away from making the playoffs and need a big win aginst a division
rival, the crowd was loud and rocking, ESPN had it as their game of the
night. I remember watching the faces of the people, knowing this would
be the last North Stars game alot of them would attend. The Stars ended
up winning the game but lost to Chicago in their final home game and
then lost to Detroit in their final game on the road, ending what had
become a huge passion for me, hockey. To not have the team here broke
my heart and it will not mend until I see the puck drop on the ice at
the River Center in the year 2000, until then I have my last North Stars
game to reflect on.

It's nice to see someone still keeping the memory alive. I miss hearing
Al Shavers voice during those long cold Minnesota winter nights. Thank
You.
