Visitors' Favorite Trails

These are trails that have been submitted and rated by visitors to this site. While I would hope that the information is accurate, I can not take responsibility for any errors. I would advise trail users who are unfamiliar with an area to always check locally for the latest trail updates. If I have personal knowledge of an area or trail listed here I will flag it with *The Trailrunner*. This will indicate that, to my knowledge, the basic facts are accurate as to location and directions. However, all trail descriptions and ratings on this page are still the opinion of the visitor who submitted it.

If you would like to Rate Your Favorite Trail please fill out this form and your favorite trail will be added to this site. Even if your trail is outside of the Bay Area please submit it anyway. I am planning to add a section on the Great Trails of the U.S. (or the World if there is interest).

Bay Area

East Bay:

Trail: Little Yosemite ***
Location: Sunol Regional Wilderness  *The Trailrunner*
Trailmap (104K)  Open Map in New Window
Submitted By: Vicki on 9/12/97
Directions: In the Bay Area, California. Take highway 680 to 84/Calaveras. Go east. Follow signs to Sonol/Ohlone Regional Wilderness. Trail to Little Yosemite is at the very very end of the parking lot.
Description: Easy to moderate hike on a fire trail, slightly uphill. Can take trail at top that loops back around to the parking lot. Only bad thing is not enough trails and too many people on the nice weather weekends. Great creek and mini water falls. My dog absolutely loves this area.

South Bay:

Trail: Skyline-to-the-Sea ***
Location: Big Basin, Santa Cruz Mountains, Calif. *The Trailrunner*
Submitted By: James Spaulding on 12/2/97
Directions: Take Highway 9 from Saratoga, pass Skyline Blvd, and then take 236 west, it runs right into Big Basin.
Description: Beautiful Coastal Redwoods, great trail, you will pass several waterfalls, hike right to the Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy. 1), a lot of beautiful sights. A must for fans of the Bay Area Wild.
