A love triangle plays out in Thailand against the backdrop of the Japanese occupation during World War II. Kobori, a Japanese navy captain, falls in love with Ungsumalin, a Thai woman who was involved with Vanus, a member of the Free Thai movement. Vanus, while gaining political momentum in England, asks Ungsumalin to marry him upon his return to Thailand. Ungsumalin must then choose between matters of country and matters of the heart.
