May I appeal to the public for prayer. I have a 13 year old son, who is very close to his Mom and Dad, (I and my wife), and the lad loves our God and lives his life as God's own child, but is still since Oct 1996, under the unwanted influence of the Children's Aid Society. These people are very much against God and christian ethics. A fifty thousand dollar public purse- five -day- trial was spent, a three month determination by the judge was set, and still the CAS influence will not go away. Nothing has changed just as though a trial had never ever taken place, the three months have long ago expired, the conditions as put forth in the trial have been met by the family and still nothing changes as to the CAS concluding anything! In 1996 the family was financialy managing well, but as this involement took the time it has so far, this family is now bankrupt, and the CAS has set the boy's education timing behind by a period of half a year due to apointments and court appearences during the school hours. Now with the lack of money his timing is again impared as to his education. The CAS do not take any responcibility for the tragity that has upset the normality of this child's life, only condemnation has been given to the boy by the CAS. and the courts. This lad is clever and we wish to ask for God's help in the provision of the costs of the home schooling expenses ($700.) by the 15th of January 1999. To day is Jan 2 1999. We the Parents and the lad thank you and our God for his answer and mercy.

In the past 2 to 4 years of my life, I have gone through some tough times. Of course my worries are small compared to the problems of the world. But to me in my small corner of the world, my troubles plague me night and day. I will not go into detail any further about what I have expierienced. All I ask though, is this. Please pray for me. Pray for Peace and happiness in my life. To feel complete happiness, contentment, and joy.

Thank you,

Aubrey

I know a man, named Ken, that does everything in his life to the glory of God.  His total life is fixed around Matthew 6:33... "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given unto thee."  God provides all his needs and he is well taken care of.  However, in spite of all this, Satan is still roaming about, seeking whom he may devour and is zeroing in on Jean, Ken's wife of about 40 years.  Seven years ago, there was a tragic event in Jean's life that resulted in the separation of Ken and Jean.  Since then, Jean has hardly talked with Ken, other than in divorce court.  She is still wanting a divorce from him, but Ken is holding strong to the vow he made to Jean, himself and in the presence of family, friends and God...  "To love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, 'till death do us part."  Ken believes in restoration and reconciliation, as should any Christian.  He believes that God will have Jean return to her rightful position as his helpmate and companion.  So do I.

Reader, this woman needs our prayers.  She needs to know know that there are people out there who also believe that God is Almighty and all-Powerful.  I ask you to please put Jean's situation on your daily devotions and prayer list.  She is in need of all the prayers she can get!

Hello, my name is Michael Renz. I live in Glendora, CA and have a mother, step-dad, and 7 awesome brothers and sisters! None of them, however, know the Lord in a personal, or in any, way! I am constantly ridiculed for my faith. I know it's necessary in my walk, though. It makes me a stronger witness.

I used to attend a Mormon church and my family are back-slidden Mormons. They need the Lord in a tremendous way. My mother has verbal abuse problems (not too bad, though). My older sister and younger sister are into drugs, I think. I'm not sure, but the signs are there. All this really doesn't matter that much, because without God in our lives, we are doomed to death regardless. I'm a firm believer. I am constantly growing in my faith day by day. Please pray for my family, whoever is out there reading this. I need as much prayer as possible for these potentially awesome Christians!

Your Brother in Christ,

Michael Renz

Our family has been having money problems for a long time, and that feeds into marital problems. Please pray that I can hear God's voice in this area and have the grace to do what He says.

Thanks for praying

A family today had their hoome burnt down. There was a mother, a father, and 5 children. The father was a work when the fire started. Th rest of the family was at home. The oldest sun saved his mother and his younger sister. The three other brothers died. The son feels guilty because he couldn't save them. The brothers went to my school. They were only around 15. Please pray for him and his family and for him to be relieved of his guilt. Thank You Christine E.

OUR FORGOTTEN BRETHREN?

I am writing on behalf of a near-forgotten group of people living in Myanmar (formerly Burma) known as the Karen (pronounced "Ker-wren") tribe. They are a unique hilltribe group because many of them are CHRISTIANS, but they are surrounded by Buddhist nations and millions of Buddhist people. They are in a similar situation as Israel which is surrounded by an overwhelming and hostile number of Arab countries and peoples. The Karens have been persecuted severely for more than 40 years since the British left then-Burma in the control of the Burmese. This was because, essentially, the Burmese feared the Karens who had found favour with the British and had formed a substantial proportion of the educated elite and professionals of the population then. Also, the Burmese are predominantly Buddhist and are intolerant of the Christian leadership of the Karens. Literally millions of Karens have been forced out of their jobs, lost their possessions (houses, farms, livestock etc.) and have been forced into hard labour, jailed, tortured and massacred (men, women and children!) for resisting. Bosnia is "mild" compared to the unpublicised suffering and killings the Karens have endured for more than 40 years! This has caused millions of Karens to flee their homes and seek refuge in the mountainous regions bordering Thailand. Those who were fortunate enough to slip through the Burmese troop lines are living in refugee camps just inside Thailand and they number only about 100,000. The Thai Government does not wish to grant refugee status to these Karens for fear of offending the Myanmar military government with whom they share mutual economic and religious interests. The United Nations, therefore, cannot officially grant any aid to the Karen refugees. The church where I worship, Emmanuel Assembly of God in Singapore, has been sending missionary teams to these refugees for the last three years - bringing food, medicine, clothing, financial aid and, most importantly, spiritual assistance to these Karen brethren. We are among a handful of NGOs (non-government organisations) who are doing what we can to alleviate the Karens" plight. Most of the NGOs, incidiently, are Christian. Our missionary teams visit the camps (just inside Thailand's western border) when it is safe to do so i.e. when the SLORC (Burmese military junta) armed forces stop shelling and attacking the Karen villages and refugee camps due to weather conditions. We bring in aid and supplies and spend a few days with our refugee brethren - sharing the gospel, training Christian leaders and generally encouraging the Karen people. The Karens have remained faithful to their Christian heritage through all the suffering. They are basically Baptist in their beliefs, having been evangelised by Baptist missionaries from England before World War II. They fought valiantly beside the Allied forces against cruel Japanese aggressors during the war, suffering heavy casualties and untold atrocities for their loyalty. Wherever they settle, they will build a school and a church. Their Christian fervour in the face of such hardship is nothing short of inspirational and truly a powerful testimony to the glory of God. At the main refugee camp, the Christians there are even actively planning and preparing to evangelize Myanmar when they return to their homeland (only God knows when, if ever) - such is their heartwarming faith. Recently, Thailand experienced very heavy flooding as a result of the monsoon rains, and the Karen refugee camps were not red. Most of the makeshift shelters, wooden houses and churches were completely washed away and the refugees lost most of whatever meagre possessions and food supplies they had left. My church despatched a team with emergency supplies which seemed like a drop in the ocean of desperate need of these brethren who have already been so severely tested. Words cannot describe the seeming helplessness the team felt when we saw the devastation - we could only pray for divine help. However, as in all these years, through the sacrifice of God's people, we know He will provide for the Karens who are also of the household of faith. If you think you would like more information about this people and their needs, please do not hesitate to e-mail me. Photos and more reports are available. You can contact me at: E-MAIL: alkichan@singnet.com.sg Thank you for having read this message and I hope to hear from you soon. May the Lord continue to richly bless the good work you and your church are doing.

Yours in His Service,
Bro Kevin Chan

I was a Muslim for the last seventeen and a half years. Then, I went to Marquette University and met an AWESOME girl named Irene who showed me the path in Christ. Now, my entire family has turned against me because I walk with Christ in my heart. Also, my relationship with Irene has been strained. I pray that the Lord would give me the strength to endure and to continue to glorify His Name.

Please pray for a friend that I love dearly. He has had a drug problem for 8 years. He is going to get out of treatment on April 7th after 3 months there. He has been to treatment and relapsed (gone back to drugs) several times. He believes that God has taken away his drug problem this time. Please pray for him. His name is Oscar. Please also pray for him to become aware that the Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult. He has been involved with them over the years, and thinks that they have the "real truth". Please pray for my friend, that he will see the Light of God and be saved!

Thank you,

When God can forgive, He can repair and replace any defective part of society that is offensive to His will. It is not good enough that a page go up asking for people's help to replace the C.A.S. in our society, but that we should also ask for the believers to join in asking God's direction and will in the endevour of replacing the crippled system that tragically robs young children of deserving mental freedom. Please pray that the children who are presently in so called government care, will soon find perminent relief in that the system will be terminated and the children transfered to Godly operated programs here in North America. May we be on our knees to God constantly knowing that God is the greatest power that we can rely on. He is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in a time of trouble. Please give God all the glory for his most perfect and efficient handy-work in all that He is about to do in the freeing of our children from the Childrens Aid Societies and from Satan's heavy handedness in their lives. OUR Father in Heaven is the greatest over-comer and turn-around force the world has and will ever see, but we must direct every single ounce of thanks and praise exclusively to HIM and HIM alone.

Hi All,
Please pray for the salvation, protection, and guidance of Mitchell B. Johnson. Mitchell is in jail, awaiting trial. Mitchell is 18 years old, the youngest in his section of the county jail. He is remorseful for what he's done. He needs protection and the knowledge that God loves him, will forgive a contrite heart, and is the source of strength. God will guide Mitchell. Please pray that Mitchell's heart is opened to God.
Thank you,
Nadine

Hi All,
Please pray for my daughter's father, (his name is Sam). He has cancer and the doctors say that it is the kind that spreads. He has three masses and is now taking chemo to try and shrink the masses. Let us agree together that the masses will shrink and God will completely heal the mind, body, and soul.
Thank you for praying with me,

To fellow believers, I have a friend in my life who has recently returned from Korea. He obviously, has had his soul taken over by a negative entity. With your prayers in agreement with mine I feel we can help him over come this negative entity. The entity has him using profanity excessively, being a habitual womanizer, liar, manipulator, cheater, etc. Please join in with me and pray for deliverance of my dear friend. I am trying to help save him from destruction and also the others around him from being destroyed.

Yours in Christ,
