The Diner's Registry The Menu Like This Background? Hello friends and neighbors, my name is Miss Issy and I am the webmistress, graphics designer, interior decorater, featured writer, head cook, hostess, and chief bottle washer at the Cafe'. In other words, almost everything you see here is my own creation. I have created all the background sets displayed at The Diner, while some of the small images were chosen from A Touch of Country and Sharon's Land of Hearts.

In late March of 1998, I moved into my home on the web at HotSprings/Spa/9534 ~IssyMissy's House of Fine Repute~, which I hope you will take time to visit. My home there was created as a refuge for my fellow Lupus travelors, but you don't have to have SLE (Lupus) to enjoy my castle. In addition to just about all the Lupus information available on the internet, my own writings about SLE, and the personal Lupus stories of many visitors, you will also find crafts, recipes, games, fun-links, awards you can apply for, humorous antidotes, tons of gifs, and so much more!
In August of 1998, I began studying to become a GeoCities Community Leader for HotSprings. During the training process, one of my assignments was to build a small home page, using my own knowledge of HTML. I chose SoHo/Coffeehouse/6832 as my new address. With a home and a Boutique, I decided Miss Issy needed a diner. Thus, The Cafe' Chronicles was established.
On a personal note, my real name is Gayla ~ I am a freelance writer, and a single mother of two wonderful children: Sarah, who is 18, a Freshman at the University of Oklahoma and member of Delta Gamma, and Robert, 8, who is currently in the 2nd grade. With the busy schedule, friends, and boyfriends of a teenager, coupled with the ceaseless energy of a 8 year old boy, there is never a dull moment at our house... tense, stressful, nerve-racking, but never dull. Such excitement, I believe, is the reason I enjoy web-designing so much. Here, I am in charge, and can maintain order, cleanliness, and complete control, all of which are impossibilities in my real home!
Below you will see a photo of me which was taken the summer of '98. When visiting web pages, I like having a face to put with the words, though no one ever looks quite like we imagine. So here's to shattering your mental image of me!
Thank you for patronzing The Cafe' and for taking the time to visit with me. I hope you enjoy your stay. You may use the links above to e-mail me, visit my other sites, or learn about becoming a Community Leader in your own neighborhood. Please take a moment to sign the Registry, if you haven't done so. If you have a good, clean joke you'd like to share, please send it to me and it will be served up as one of the Daily Specials. Should you have a poem, essay, or short story you would like to share, I am planning to add a new item to The Menu soon -- the PATRONS FAVORITES -- recipes consisting of selected writings sent in by my guests.
