Also you should know some good places to go and the right contacts. Below are names of some great places and people you should know or might find useful on your next run. They are also displayed in the Library. Bars and NightClubs Resturants Fun Places Safe Houses Runner Supplies
Bars and Nightclubs
This Lounge is located near the heart of New Seattle, just off of MAC Street. The lounge walls are plastered with Lava Lamp lava designs, as well as there being lava lamps all over the club. There is a good bar but a small kitchen, so don't come here looking for a meal, just a snack. There are many tables and secluded booths. If you're looking for information or rare goods, you'll find your contact here. Plus they're open 24 hours.
Located in the Norther part of Downtown, this dance club is the center for the Gothic life of Seattle, all sorts of gothic people can be found in the esatblishment. Cocktails of all sorts are a very common site in the bar. If you aren't used to Gothic people, I recommend you stay away from this bar, there are some very unusual people within the bar, and the music is very Heavy, Evil, the over all feel for the place is.. well... Gothic.
Live 'til Dusk (NightClub)
Speaks for itself really, doesn't it? Well it opens late, and is alive till dusk, as the name suggests.. Most folk frequent here due to its fair proximity to the Highway, therefore, if they get into any trouble, hoppin' into the car and speeding back to Downtown, isn't that much of a hastle. You can find a good whiskey, or a decent brew here.. Of couse, being the barrens, once again, you can also find a fight. so come in, have a drink, but try not to start drek with the patrons, they get really annoyed at that. Believe me, you dont want them to be annoyed.
The Neon Butterfly (Runner Hangout)
Glamorous this place is not. This club/ restaurant/ bar/ hideout/ meeting place... etc. is built in an abandoned warehouse. They spared every expense in building the place. About all they did was add some furniture, build a kitchen and a bar and... well that's about it. They do have trideo displays set around the place so you can catch the Urban Brawl Game or any of the "Neil the Ork Barbarian" tri-d's. The food is big and so are the patrons. Not usually the place elves would feel at home in, but if you can crush skulls with the big boys your in.
Resturants
This is an elven restaurant. Everything in the design is in keeping with a nature theme. The idea is for the customer walking in off the street to feel as though he/she is entering a hidden meadow in the woods. All of the furniture, decorations, even the walls appear as though they had grown right out of the earth. The music playing is the sounds of nature with occasional classical orchestra music added. The hosts and waiters wear clothes that are of earth tones and very natural looking cuts. Very peaceful place to enjoy fine cuisine.
Penumbra
The International Districts Premier resturaunt. The Penumbra is for the stylish and the stylish only, there is a very strict dress code and it can take up to 2 months of waiting to get in for dinner, the Penumbra is Seattles Premier resteraunt, its where the corpers plot and scheme against others, and where shadowrunners try to make contacts with those very corpers.
Mr. Chang's
This little resturant specializes in Chinese and American cuisine. Open from 10am - 1am. It is a very good place to eat. The atmosphere is very oriental but with an american twist. It's run by Sam Chang and there is no tolerance for violence of any kind, Sam's Heckler & Koch HK227 makes sure of that. This is a great place to eat as well as to meet contacts and other people on neutral turf.
Fun Places
A house of Indulgence that is run by the Lady James, it offers beautiful women, cheep, free of desieases, in a very up market setting. Choose your own fantasy, or just hire a normal room, its up to you. The parlour below is always full of patrons, Drinks are on the house, and the women are there to please, check it out, one block west of the highway exit.
Big Eds Balls (Pool Hall)
The pun WAS intended when this place was created, the average everyday, normal pool hall, of course nothing in the barrens is normal.. Its a pool hall, where everyone from the fat, to the Horrendously fat come to play a few rounds, sip some piss flavoured beer, and loose some money. I guess this is a prospective place to get the drek beaten out of you for not paying up, so watch your step, and I sudgest carrying a peice would help too. Its a nice place if ya are looking for a game of pool, and some trouble.
Early Q's (Night Club)
This is an adult gentleman's (I use that term loosely) paradise. Early has some of the best looking women in town dancing on one of his many stages all hours that he is open. Where he finds these women is a mystery. The atmosphere in the club is usually pretty laid back. If you are looking for some good wholsome (another term I use loosely) entertainment, this would be the place to go.
Runner Safe Houses
If you need a place to hide, this is a good place. located in the heart of the barrens, Lone Star has no knowledge of this place. Ideal for weapon experts and riggers. Chris has a lot of parts to different weapons and vehciles that he sells cheap to runners in trouble. The place is has the bare necessities: couch, table, 2 chairs, blankets, and a untracable phone; all located in the basement of Chris's small house. For 100¥ a day (up to 3 runners), this is a good place to hide.
This place is just outside New Seattle deep in the woods. It is very hard to find since the road going to it is a dirt road which is closed in by trees but if you find it you'll be safe. Unless they are some crafty Elves in the neighborhood. Everything you need is there. Consult some contacts for directions and details, there may be more than one.
Runner Supplies
This little shop is located near the border between the barrens and the rest of New Seattle. Nightshade (NS for short) gets many used items in and sells them at bargain prices. Also he finds some very unique and new items which are well worth your money. For online or offline players, you can talk to him via MSN and make a deal. Click on HERE to go to the Equipment Counter.
Bullet Bob's Runner Surplus
This shop will have most weapons and surveillance devices you might want to look for. The shop is located in one of the less corporate areas of Seattle. Most of Bob's neighbors are greatful that he conducts business in their area. Ever since Bob opened up shop it seems that all the street punks that used to charge taxes for being in business found somewhere else to hang out. Bob's mostly stocks all the legal stuff, but if you are very nice and say please you can find whatever your little heart desires.
The Banshee
The Barrens is home to this quaint establishment. In the source books and adventures, this place is the home of the Johnson, where shadowrunners come to get Runs, not that easy here, its just another bar here, although, it is rather close to the highway that separates the Barrens from Downtown, so that does make it often frequented. The Jive Kings call the block around the banshee their home, so dont try parking on the side walk. And make sure you are armed when going to the barrens. Its a rough place.
