I found the following two items extremely helpful in any campaign setting (except Athas...but then, the only truly helpful thing in Athas is a pocket-sized nuke...)
The Warriors and Priests of the Realms book is an excellent reference work for the player. It includes many diety specific kits for the priest...
The Faiths and Avatars book is an excellent piece of work. A must have for DMs running priests and dieties in any campaign.
