Peter Parker had kept his promise not to become Spider-Man again. He and his aunt May are now quite well off, living in a Fifth Avenue penthouse, courtesy of the income from wife Mary Jane's modeling.
But another Spider-Man has arrived on the scene. And when a revamped Scorpion begins to tear up Manhattan, the new webspinner leaps into action. Meanwhile, Peter had gone for a job interview at the Tri Corp Research Foundation. And while being shown around, Peter was shocked to see the Scorpion burst into the complex and scream out that Parker was the one he's come for. Then, the bogus Spidey entered the fray and the Scorpion was beaten. But the new Spider-Man's identity remains a secret. |
While the new Spider-Man was battling a group of armored baddies, Peter was close, taken pictures to be sold to the Daily Beagle Newspaper. Spidey defeated his foes, but they was able to give liberty to a new villain called the Ranger, who was inside a police's transportation truck.
A new character is showed, the Senator Stewart Ward, who has an obscure past. He was expected to visit New York city the next day. The next day, Peter went to the JFK Airport to meet Mary Jane Watson Parker, his wife and famous model, who was arriving from work in Europe to spend the weekend with him. At that same moment, the Senator Ward also arrived. Suddenly, the Ranger appeared with intention to kill the Senator. Spider-Man also came, fighting the new villain and defeating him after a long struggle. The Senator escaped without a hurt. The new Spidey desappeared, leaving Peter in the MJ's arms and wondering why the Ranger was looking for the Senator Ward.
