Spider-Man Issues from February, 1998

The Amazing Spider-Man # 431
SSM#431 The Carnage's symbiote had bonded with the Silver Surfer, criating a menace called the Carnage Cosmic. Trying to fight against the symbiote in his mind, the Surfer headed to the space, leaving his old host Cletus Kasady in agony. Spidey have taken Kasady to a hospital, while the Silver Surfer have had thougts about his first encounter with the symbiote race, long time ago, when he took Galactus, the devourer of worlds, to eat their planet, and had continued to struggle to be free.

In the hospital, Kasady was diagnosed suffering from a advanced case of stomach cancer.

Later, the Carnage Cosmic have returned to New York, knowing that Cletus needed the symbiote to survive. He have been attacked by the Spidey. The fight headed to the hospital, to Kasady room, where the symbiote released the Surfer and have bonded with Cletus again. The Carnage was back. But feeling pity of him, the Surfer used his cosmic power and encased him wihin a unbreakable shell of ethereal energy.

Meanwhile, in the Daily Beagle, Robertson handed his resignation letter to a surprised Jonah Jameson.

The Sensational Spider-Man # 24

When Spider-Man inadvertently encountered the evil Hydro Man on Christmas Eve, they battled inconclusively, jeered on by the watching people.

The webspinner, although leaving the encounter safely, continued to be on the shadow of the five million dollar bounty placed on his head by the Daily Beagle newspaper.

Avengeful Hydro Man has decided that he is the one who should collect the reward and concocted a scheme to draw Spidey out so the watery wonder can defeat him in their rematch.

Peter Parker Spider-Man # 88

PPSM#88 A local thug named Joey Z was found murdured with web fluid having suffocated him. This caused the bounty for the murder to be placed on the web-spinner's head by the Daily Bugle, a bounty started at one million dollars and now updated to five million. The enticement for many was too strong.

Peter started to see a bright figure like the Green Goblin, but when he tried to get to it, it desappears.

Full of angry, Peter had visited Norman Osborn in the executive offices of the Osborn Industries. After a short chat, he had gotten out and returned as Spider-Man, hijacked Osborn and took him to the top of the building. Having saying that Peter was never a worthy opponent, Norman jumped off the building, and were catched by web and put in the ground, just when the police and security people are arriving, showing that Spidey have tried to spank Osborn again.

Later, Spider-Man have gone to Arthur Stacy's home and asked his help.

The Spetacular Spider-Man # 254

Captured by the mighty Sir, the Spider-Man was tied to a special chair and was tortured by Dr. Angst, under the orders of Norman Osborn. In the interval of the tortures, he have remembered how he was captured in the Daily Beagle.

The tortures have taken him to his worsts nightmares, but his strong soul have given him a chance to escaped and he fighted against Sir until the moment he had given up struggling Spidey. Then, the web-spinner have attacked Dr. Angst and asked him to tell Osborn that that game couldn't go on. He have broken the laboratory and went away, after manacing the doctor that when Norman Osborn would take his big fall, so would him.
