S'mKiith is a nondescript inhabited planet in the middle of the Utbak slice of the Outer Rim. At first glance, S'mKiith seems completely unremarkable, with its endless plains and isolated, preatomic cities. Upon in-depth exploration, however, it becomes quite clear that there's more to S'mKiith than meets the eye. To begin with, the planet boasts impressive mineral deposits, making it a prime target for Imperial mining efforts. In addition to its geological and economic value, this tiny world boasts some of the most impressive lifeforms in the galaxy. Despite their appearence, many of S'mKiith's most dangerous predators are actually mobile plants. This, together with the low gravity, allows S'mKiithan life to push the limits of size and resiliance. Visitors are advised to bring powerful weapons and fast vehicles.
The sapient inhabitants are thoroughly unremarkable in all ways but one: their architectural ability is leaps and bounds ahea of their tech level. Because of this, S'mKiithan cities appear to be the product of an industrial revolution in its infancy, when in fact the inhabitants have yet to invent the internal combustion engine.
Due to some as-yet-unknown psychological quirk, S'mKiithan settlements are always clearly defined hunter/gatherer tribes or full-fledged cities, with no middle ground. The cities begin and end at the borders, with no semblance of a suburban buffer.
