When arriving from another country it is easy to form stereotypes of the people in the new country. America is often called a Christian nation with the assumption that everyone who lives there is Christian. Many believe that the American government is also Christian. This is not true. The government wants no religious influence in their policies and international dealings. Most of our cities are 48% ethnic and foreign born. They bring their traditions and religious beliefs with them with little understanding of the religious history of America. There are two types of Christians, true Christians and cultural Christians.
Marks of True Christians: True Christians are those who invite the living Jesus Christ to forgive their sins and to come and live inside them. A true Christian is never born Christian and their children are never born Christian. The life of a true Christian will have fruit that is open for all to see. They love God so they worship God daily and go to church every week to worship God with other true Christians. The true Christian loves to talk with God so they will pray every day and read the Bible to understand what God’s will is for his life.
A true Christian has a joy from God so they are not afraid or ashamed to tell others about their life with Jesus in control. A true Christian loves people so they will enjoy praying with anyone about their needs. A true Christian has a peace that does not come from this world that carries them through the difficult times in life. A true Christian is so excited about his life with Christ that they enjoy sharing this life with anyone who listens. This life or fruit of a Christian comes from a living relationship with a living God who interacts with them daily. This life is found in Jesus Christ.
