About 1831 when Tabitha was 19, she married John G. Cottrill, son of John Cottrell & Elizabeth Akert. Born in 1806. John G. died in Putnam Co., WV, on 20 May 1893; he was 87. Buried in Brown Cem. II; Putnam Co., WV. Occupation: Farmer.

On 13 January 1837 when Elias was 22, he first married Sophia Romaine, in Harrison Co., WV. Born about 1818. Sophia died before 1868; she was 50. Nickname: Spicy.
