Welcome to The Breathing Technique Page
by Charles D. Tuppen III, Former L.M.T.

This breathing technique will enable the patient and the therapist to relax
muscles much more rapidly and completely than massage alone.
And it's incredibly simple, and effective!!!
* It can also be done effectively by the patient alone !!!
Inform the patient that while doing the massage, you will be looking for areas
that are tight, or holding tension, and that when you find them, and focus your touch,
you would like them to take a long deep breath through the nose, and gently hold it
( for 3 to 5 seconds ),while they mentally focus on the spot the tension is located...
Help them focus on the desired spot with slight differences in pressure
and ask them to notice and focus on the tightness there...
and then ask them to let go of everything (tension, muscles and breath)
as they release their breath through their mouth...
This will take a few practice runs before they get the hang of it,
but should become almost automatic as they become accustomed to it...
It is also helpful to breathe along with them audibly the first few times
until they get into the rhythm of doing it each time you locate another area...
After that, reminding them becomes a matter of just saying the word
‘breathing'... or, just an audible exhale from the therapist may be enough.I am also interested in hearing the results you have obtained using ANY of these methods,
(especially my Lymphatic Vibration Technique)
