I have been tracing my family tree for close to 30 years.  Up until the last three or four years, it was a very slow and difficult process.  I found that people, especially those of the generation before me, didn't seem interested in the past. I had a feeling there were "skeletons" somewhere in our past. Many times I heard "let the dead rest in peace." When I was growing up, our forebears were rarely talked about.  I did hear rumors that there was Native American ancestry somewhere in my mother's line, and also that our family on my father's side was descended from either Macbeth or a King Donald of Scotland.

With the miracle of the internet and being one that is curious, I have been able to find much information about both my maternal and paternal sides of my family.  I have been able to trace my father's male line back to Duncan, King of Scotland.  This is the Duncan who was killed by Macbeth in Shakespear's play.  I have located my Native ancestry. I know what generation the native bloodline enters, but unfortunately, have not been able to find the name of that ancestor.  I did find much information about the native descendants of one of my ancestor's siblings. I have even found a few skeletons.

It has been exciting meeting and corresponding with cousins that I didn't know I had.  They have given me much information, and a couple were gracious enough to send me pictures of some of my ancestors.  One woman was kind enough to send me a picture of my maternal grandfather.  Until then, I didn't even know what he looked like.

Over the years, I have gathered much information not only on the male lines of my parents, but also offshoot families who are in some way connected to my ancestors and also, the families of my ex-husband's ancestors.

To include all of the main families here, would take up much space.  Instead, I will list the families that I am working on and try to include some information about the more direct families in my family tree. What I have here may not be all of the information that I have. Iam not including those who are still living, notes, or sources.

I welcome any corrections or additions to what I have, and if I might have information to help you, I would be glad to share it. Bear in mind that my information has been gathered from many sources, and you should not rely entirely on what you find here. It is not guaranteed that all information is correct.
