People today are much more aware of film directors than in the past since the director (more than any other single person) controls what gets onto celluloid. Each director has a unique style that is often recognizable--Hitchcock, Scorsese, and Speilberg for example. Check out the various links below to gain some insight to some of filmdom's great directors; better yet, rent DVDs/videos from these directors and examine them at home.
