The Women's Situation
Thematic of the Women

The first stage of CEDIMSE was of a lot of dynamism. We dedicate it to strengthen the way of the payer and the discernment with the women of the colonies that surround us. We study the reality from the women to regional and national level. We lend services (talks, retirements, classes, workshops, graduates) to groups of women's of the Diocese and other regions of the country, and as a fruit of the carried out works we publish some pamphlets. From the beginning we have offered English classes to girls and young. We have a catechesis Center in our parish. We have also welcomed to education groups for Mature and Al-Anón. But frequently we were limited by lack of an appropriate space. We work in the office of the monastery and in a small leaned house.

Now we begin a second stage. We have the building! We are in the process of organizing the administration of the Center, to furnish it and to develop projects that respond to our philosophy.

Besides the services that we come lending, we hope to offer projects in a not so distant future. We are in the process of classifying a consultation library for the childhood and the youth of our colonies. In a more specialized line, we want to put to disposition of the region a Center of Documentation on the women's topics. In February we begin a graduate of Integral Development of the Women. We also plan retirements of one day for youths that work in the maquiladoras. We want to give opportunities of integral development to girls,   young and mature. We see the importance of imparting computer science classes and of enlarging English's classes to qualify the youth of our popular colonies, and in this way, to improve their possibilities to get good employments.

Now it has ben carried out the dream of the construction of the building. But we continue dreaming: Besides looking for concrete forms of offering the services before mentioned, how do we imagine CEDIMSE of here at five, ten years? We see it as a space of, and for the community; a space where people can arrive and to feel at home; a prayer place, respect and care of everyone for the others: a place where people discover their creative possibilities and develops them. We imagine it as a space to where they can come to feed, to leave renovated  and to take other the Good New of the love that God has for each one of its daughters and children. We dream of a Center where, every day, all the people that lend and receive services make an effort to relate the faith and the life. In short, as Benito and Escolastica, we want to continue forming a community that is “a school for the service of the Lord” in which anything is prefixed to Christ's love.
