Purification Incense

This incense can be powdered (use a mortar and pestle or a coffee grinder) or left in a chunky form. It is a mixture of resins, wood and herbs with a dash of essential oil. Don’t forget, a little of this incense goes a long way, so this quantity will be quite sufficient for one purification ritual.

1 teaspoon Frankincense
1 teaspoon Dragon’s Blood resin
½ teaspoon Myrrh
½ teaspoon Sandalwood
¼ teaspoon Dill seed
2 or 3 drops of Rose Geranium essential oil

If you want to make a larger quantity of this incense, store any leftovers in an airtight glass jar. If you cannot find one or more of the ingredients for the incense, here is a short list of magickal substitutions. (You can change the recipe to suit your taste based on this list if you wish, or add extra herbs or resins.)

Substitutions:
Gums and Resins: Benzoin, Copal, Gum Arabic
Herbs and Woods: Chamomile, Fennel Seed, Lavender, Pine, Rosemary, Tobacco (chemical free, please!)
Essential Oils: Chamomile, Peppermint, Lavender, Thyme, Benzoin

Purification Oil

Make sure you use only pure essential oils for this anointing oil. Fragrant oils often contain chemicals and cannot create the energies you need to work with. Use organic or bio-dynamic carrier oils wherever possible.

10mls carrier oil such as Sweet Almond, Peach Kernel, Jojoba or Grape Seed
5 drops Frankincense oil
5 drops Myrrh oil
5 drops Sandalwood Oil
2 drops Eucalyptus oil
2 drops Camphor oil (optional)

Place the carrier oil in an amber or blue glass bottle, then add the essential oils. When you have placed the lid on the bottle, give it a shake to mix the oils together. The oil can be charged by placing on a clear quartz cluster, or you can add a tiny quartz crystal or amethyst crystal into the bottle.
If you will be keeping the oil for a considerable time, you may add about 2-3mls of wheatgerm oil.

Lust Oils

Here are two of my very own recipes for people on the prowl: remember - these oils are for you to wear and feel good about yourself, not to trap a poor innocent person into bed with you. They'll give you a sexy aura, but remember the Rede: An it harm none, do as ye will. No magick intended to attract a particular person to you please!

Make sure you use only pure essential oils for these anointing oils. Fragrant oils often contain chemicals and cannot create the energies you need to work with. Use organic or bio-dynamic carrier oils wherever possible.

To attract a woman
10mls carrier oil such as Sweet Almond, Peach Kernel, Jojoba or Grape Seed
6 drops sandalwood
3 drops cinnamon
3 drops patchouli

To attract a man
10mls carrier oil such as Sweet Almond, Peach Kernel, Jojoba or Grape Seed
6 drops sandalwood
3 drops ylang ylang
3 drops ginger
2 drops patchouli

Place the carrier oil in an amber or blue glass bottle, then add the essential oils. When you have placed the lid on the bottle, give it a shake to mix the oils together. The oil can be charged by placing on a clear quartz cluster, or you can add a tiny quartz crystal or amethyst crystal into the bottle.
If you will be keeping the oil for a considerable time, you may add about 2-3mls of wheatgerm oil.

Spiritual Harmony Incense

This incense recipe comes from Herb Craft by Susan Lavender and Anna Franklin. I prefer to leave it in granules although you may grind it in a mortar and pestle if you wish. This incense should be burned on charcoal to promote a calm atmosphere and it is especially good for temples, sacred circles and meditation places.

1 part Benzoin
2 parts Frankincense
1/2 part red rose petals

Benzoin Tincture

Benzoin tincture can be used for anointing candles in purification or prosperity magick.

25 mls of perfumer's alcohol
(or substitute with a high quality vodka if unavailable)
1 teaspoon of powdered Benzoin

Place the benzoin into a brown glass bottle and add the alcohol. Screw the lid on tightly and shake for a minute or so. Place in a dark and cool place. Every couple of days shake for a minute or two and leave for 2-3 weeks. Then strain the liquid through a muslin cloth into another brown glass bottle and store in a cool, dark place. Benzoin tincture will last and last... just use a tiny amount to anoint candles: white candles for purification and green candles for prosperity.
