Salvation

The Roman Catholic Church Asserts:

1. That faith alone does not suffice for salvation.
2. That faith in Gods divine mercy alone to remit sins is not what justifies us.
3. That through faith alone, one cannot obtain the inheritance of eternal life.
4. That the sacraments are necessary to obtain justification from God.
5. That a sinner is not justified by faith alone, but there is more required and it is necessary for the sinner to be prepared and disposed by the action of his own will in order to obtain the grace of justification.
6. That justification from God is preserved and increased through good works.
7. That no one should say that the observance of the commandments of God is impossible for one that is justified.
8. That no one can say that they are free from observing the commandments of God and the Church because the gospel promises eternal life without condition.
9. That no one can be saved who remains outside of the Catholic Church.
10. That all people must belong to the Catholic Church in order to be saved.
11. That penance, by which one atones for their sins, is a worship of God and not a tradition of men.
12. No one ought to state with absolute certainty that he is among the number of the predestined (for salvation).
13. That God imputes good works as justification, hence for this just man, there is no merit for eternal punishment
