The affixation on the reverse
of this page comes from the June 12, 1988 edition of the
New York Times.
On the previous day, "FREEDOMFEST Freedom at 70", the
Nelson Mandela tribute was staged in London.
And on June 10, 1988, there was the press report that Soviet
students' history tests were being postponed because history
books were being "rewritten."
Please recall that one of the terms of reference to that August, 1986 statement to "The Arab League" is a copy of the February 15, 1986 The Economist article, "The Other Side of Islam"...and that the statement itself promises that i will forward a copy of it to "The Islamic Conference Organization".
I'd like to include in that submission later this year
another appeal for the release safely of the innocent hostages,
and already have planned the form of the statement so it may
achieve the goal which British publisher Robert Maxwell
offered $12 million Canadian for achievement of earlier this
year.
A "Christian friend"recently
referred me to 1 John of The New Testament, and i remind
you of its reference to not ask for mercy for crimes punishable
by death.
I can respect that.
Nonetheless, please consider the implications of the contents of
my August, 1986 statement to
Clovis Maksoud and these two
letters i received from Mrs. Alan Paton--on behalf of
her now-late husband--(as well as the 1986 recommendation from Bill Vander
Zalm) in relation to the hostages' freedom, the other term of reference to
that August, 1986 statement, and my continuing
"influence" re South Africa...as well as the significance of
"FREEDOMFEST".
I'm planning to donate the $12 million to charity--groups developing improved understanding among Christians, Moslems, and Jews, to help feed the world's hungry, to encourage the world peace movement, to aid the disabled and disadvantaged, and other such "causes."
But to do so takes a lot of optimism and personal forbearance in light of "(my) present situation" and what these Income Tax Returns substantiate.
Next month i will be giving Dave Barrett copies of my December, 1988 statements to Reagan and Gorbachev because of the 1978 events.*
Please suggest to Mulroney that he should have heeded
Ms. Carney's
advice to him that she would (have) appreciate(d) "(his)
attention to this matter," and that if he doesn't attend to
it now his place in Canadian and world history will be something
quite different than what one suspects he would want it.
Advise him that my Mother phoned me on February 28, 1989 to tell
me my Father suffered a mild stroke the previous day.
If this isn't settled properly very soon, therefore,
please also advise him i finally dug out copies of pages
1211-1222 of Hansard to send as promised several years
ago to Jimmy Carter.
...There is that matter of
Trudeau's "elite team" devising his "pilgrimage of peace"
strategy.
I recall sending Pope John Paul a copy of the Toronto
Star article about it, but don't recall whether i
immediately asked for his comment (in
reference to the contents of my 1978 submissions to the Roman
Catholic Church authorities) or, as i asked the Carter
White House after they telephoned me in 1980, whether i
asked for time to again appeal to the consciences of the
Canadian authorities.
I can't imagine Gorbachev not asking the Pope for such
comment re my "International Diplomatic
Work...on a direct basis" following my next submission to Moscow.
Need i say more now, in "(my) present
situation"?
(affixed to the bottom of the page was a photocopy of
24/05/89 welfare cheque to WONG, GORDON CHARLES in the
amount of: $430.00)
*-IT TOOK THREE TRIES BY MAIL BEFORE THE OFFICE OF THEN-CANADIAN MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT DAVE BARRETT WOULD CONFIRM RECEIPT OF THE COPIES OF THE DECEMBER, 1988 STATEMENTS TO REAGAN AND GORBACHEV. THERE IS SOMETHING YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING ABOUT THIS WORD (PARTICULARLY IN THIS
"PRESENT SITUATION" IF YOU TAKE A BRIEF
SIDESTEP HERE.
Now that you're back here after the brief sidestep, i would
remind "all of us" that during
CNN's January 7, 1998 exclusive interview with the new Iranian
leader, Mohammad Khatami, conducted by the Iranian-born
Christiane Amanpour, he cites as the best "view" on the
United States democracy, in his opinion, Alexis de
Tocqueville's 1835/1840 classic book, "Democracy in
America"...cited by me in this 1983 statement to Joe Clark and Ed Broadbent.
I NEVER RECEIVED FROM HIM ANY RESPONSE TO THE DOCUMENT COPIES SUBMISSION(S)
--EITHER WRITTEN OR VERBAL.
BUT I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND A PUBLIC APPEARANCE HE MADE ON DECEMBER 5, 1995 TO PUBLICIZE HIS BOOK, "crock of doodoo". IT WAS ONE IN A SERIES OF PUBLIC FORUMS BY FORMER POLITICIANS AND PUNDITS CALLED: "CIVITAS".
If you take a trip over to my guestbook, you will note that i signed
my guestbook myself in a veryspecific way when i opened
this website early last year.
If you consider the process outlined in the footsteps starting
with theList of Contents for my June
5, 1992 hand-delivered submission to then-Premier of British
Columbia e Harcourt and that the man who shortly
after i gave him and his New Democratic Party those document
copies was forced to resign office because it was revealed that
his party had been diverting funds raised by a charity they were
running into their political coffers and they never did get
around to drawing to the public's attention the contents of
those document copies...NOT BE ABLE TO FILL A CAR WITH
CONSTITUTIONAL SUPPORTERS...
NOW IS THE SPOT TO EXPLAIN THE GUEST BOOK SIGNING AND POLIO BOY
AS SAVIOUR OF CANADA.
