His and Her Theme Yeah Sammi Cheng!!! I got another Sammi cd, and I really like this one as well. Even though there are really only 3 songs that are new, I really like this cd. I already have most of the songs of this cd, but I really like track 2 song. I think it is sooo good!! Other tracks I recommend are 1,3, 4, and the rest are old, so you should know whether you like them or not. I like the mtvs too, but I wished I could get the cantonese version of the first song. This cd is suppose to be a pre-release of her concert in Taiwan, which I might be able to see this Christmas...haha!! Oh yeah, I am not sure of the album title translation, so sorry =) I rate this cd a 4.5/5 - this cd lost 0.5 because too many old songs...I want to hear new stuff..hehe.
Cecilia Cheung This is Cecilia Cheung's first mandarin album, and I must say I was disappointed with this cd. I thought most of the songs were really bad, besides track 1 and 2, most of the other songs were either old songs that she sang in cantonese, or just boring. She does not put much feeling into the songs, and nothing really new. Not much to say, I cannot really recommend this one. More value would have been added to this cd if it had some mtvs, but nope. And I got the deluxe version, and all it had was this daily planner thing with only a few small pictures of her. This cd gets a rate 2/5.
Ladies First Sammi Cheng finally released a new cantonese cd, and I must admit this cd is very good. At first I didn't like track one, but after watching the movie, and listening to it more, I really like that song. I also enjoyed tracks 2,3,4, and 6, oh yeah and 10. At first I didn't like track 10, but then I saw the mtv, and I thought it was so cool!! I really recommend this cd. I'm glad Sammi won tons of awards for some of the songs. Must buy for everyone. She also puts a lot of feelings and tries to mix up the type of songs; not very many love ballads, but more different styles. I rate this 5/5.
A Man's Love Andy Lau has improved so much. I was really surprised by how good this cd turned out. At first I bought this cd because I really like the duet he sang with Kelly Chen, but all the other songs are really good too! I especially liked track 3,4,5, and 6. In track 3, Andy really sings it well, I was so surprised by all his effort. I am very glad I bought this, no regrets. Usually his songs are really predictable, and pretty boring, but this one is different. I also liked that Andy writes many of his own lyrics, which I think is cool! I rate this 5/5.
Play It Loud/Kiss Me Soft Miriam Yeung released 2 EPs in one album, so I guess you can say its a full cd. I liked "Kiss Me Soft" EP better because it had more ballad-type songs. "Play It Loud" had more rock type songs, so there was a little of both styles for people. The songs I enjoyed on "Kiss Me Soft" were tracks 1,2, and 6. On "Play it Loud," I liked tracks 3 and 6. I don't think this cd was that good. Miriam sounds the same, and the songs sound like typical Miriam songs. Although she did have more change than her usually really sad stuff. Still I think she needs to find more variability, sometimes her songs are just really boring. I rate this cd at 3/5.
A Brand New Me Cecilia Cheung released another cantonese album that I have grown to enjoy as well. I also really like that cool wobbly head replica doll of Cecilia...I got the nurse one. Anyways, about the cd, well, I also like here duet with that one girl again, I don't know her english name. I mainly liked tracks 9, 11, 12, and 14. Nothing much to really comment on, except in the pictures, I think it shows a more mature Cecilia. I wonder if she is trying to break her little girl image? Either way...it's cool..hehe. I rate this cd at 3/5.
Ekin Magic So far, I have only really liked one of Ekin Cheng's cds, and that was "If it had to Rain." Overall, I haven't really like much of his other stuff. But after watching the movie "Legend of Speed 2," I wanted to get this cd, cause I liked some of the songs. I was pretty surprised by this cd as well. Although not great, I still liked some of the songs. I also have to admit that some of the pictures are really cool! I liked the picture of the black motorcycle, so cool!! Some of the tracks I recommend are 1,2,3,8 and 10. I'm not sure why this cd came with a couple of rubber bands, what do I do with these? I rate this cd a 3/5.
Flower Flower Sorry about the bad translation for Kelly Chen's new cantonese cd, but I can't read those words. Again, my chinese reading capabilities are limited to what I have learned through some grade school chinese books...hehe. At first I was hesitant to buy this cd because I thought it was a record, this cd came in a huge box. After I asked the sales clerks, they told me it was a cd, so I quickly go this one. I enjoyed this cd as well, Kelly is pretty good. I really liked tracks 7 and 9. Here songs are usually really fast with a lot of techno, so I didn't really get into her other songs. I rate this cd a 3/5.
Nothing Really Matters I don't really know what to say about this cd. I was pretty disappointed, after his previous cd I got, I didn't like very many songs on this cd. I only really liked one song, and that was track 10. Still even for this song, I don't understand why he sang it in such a cheery mood, cause from the title, it sounds like a sad song. Overall, most of the songs are pretty boring and unispiring. Eason Chan does a pretty good job of singing, but the songs and melody were not really want I liked. So I have to give this cd a 1.5/5.
Peking Station Leon Lai released his new cantonese album, and I have enjoyed quite a few of these songs. I think Leon needs to improve on his performance, but I have enjoyed the melody of many of these songs. I mainly like tracks 2,3,4,8, and 10. At first I didn't like his Sausilito song, but after watching the movie again, I grew to like the song. I also liked the mtv with him and Hsu Chi. I have to say his english song "Fly Me to the Moon" is pretty good. His accent is not too strong. I give this cd 3.5/5.
Just For You Andy Lau released another album. I have to say that this is mainly an EP, so I liked some of the songs. I'm not too sure who Sharon Cuenta is, but I did enjoy the duet. Also in one of the mtvs, it showed Andy Lau finally winning "Best Actor." I thought it was really cool. These songs are the same Andy songs, but in the duet, it was a good performance by both singers. Nothing much to really say except I rate this a 3/5.
Sammi iConcert 99 Sammi Cheng had another concert that I wished I could attend. I really liked this one, I liked the extra cd where Sammi and friends had a little skit for the intermission shows. The ending was really funny for the skit as well. Overall, I think Sammi did a great performance. Before I hated concert cds cause I thought the sound was low-quality, but now I think they are using better recording equipment. I like concert cds now because I will be able to really hear their voice, it helps give a better picture of the singer's abilities. There are not any new songs, but this is a live performance. I totally recommend this if you want to see Sammi dance and talk to the fans. Also I may be a little biased towards Sammi cds cause she is my FAVORITE SINGER! Overall 4.5/5 Thanks and come again!
