THIS SITE IS SET UP PURELY FOR ENJOYMENT. IF YOU WISH TO USE THESE FREQUENCIES FOR FINANCIAL GAIN OR CRIME, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE

No liability is taken by the owner of this site for frequency details. All care is taken and most frequencies have been checked personally.
If you want an official frequency guide, and are willing to pay for it, get the "Register of Australian Goverment Frequencies" from Dick Smith Electronics (or another one of their scanner books). The frequency information found here is not from a book, and has been discovered personally with my own scanner. Therefore this material is not copyright.

now that's over, enjoy your listening!

The scanners I use are a Realistic Pro 30 and a Yaesu VR-500 (see My Operating Habits). The Pro 30 has 16 channels (modest, but I make do) and is an old Tandy model. 16 channels is a good place to start, rather than being bogged down with 100 or more. (The VR-500 has 1000, and is a great radio once you rally know your way around the airbands and scanning).
The main thing I use the Pro-30 for now is for airband listening, as it is more sensitive to this than my VR-500.

Homebush and Olympic Park Frequencies

Frequency (MHz) User
492.550 Stadium Australia CrewI think this is an input frequency for the trunking two-way handheld radios used in the opening ceremony of the Olympics, and also during the Paralympics. This frequency may be used during other events at the stadium also. Scan around nearby frequencies too for their other channels! CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE STADIUM'S HANDHELD RADIO SYSTEM!
472.800Channel 7 talkback I have checked this and it is an aca liscenced frequency for channel 7. They are based at Mobb's Hill, Epping, Sydney.
485.175Showground staff Adjacent to Sydney Olympic Park is the Showground. Some venues (such as the Dome) were used in the Olympics and possibly in the Paralympics. Have fun at the Easter show as well.
473.700Bicentennial Park Trust On the Eastern side of Sydney Olympic Park and the showground is this beautiful park, including wetlands, lookout towers, and it's right on Homebush Bay. Listen to the rangers! (ACA licenced frequency)

I found out from a police man that police working at the Olympic Site were on channel 18 (468.225MHz), however, I have not found any signals on this frequency or the input frequency for this channel. On the night after the opening ceremony of the Paralympics (I was in the cast for both Opening Ceremonies), another policeman said that the radios they were using were "different". Now that the olympics are over, they will be using channel "Golf" again.

On New Years Eve 2000, the Police, as well as their standard operating channels, used these three extra channels for traffic, etc control in the specified areas.
