Slara's History
Slara was born in Bitra Hold. She learned many ways of gambling and card-playing. She lived there until she was nine. Later she journeyed with her parents, Journeyman Tanner R'gel and Journeyman Beasthealer Piassa. They journeyed well for three Turns with their daughter. On Slara's fourteenth birthday, (which they celebrated near Odyssey Sky Weyr) R'gel annouced that they would visit Gathis Weyr, where R'gel had Impressed his brown. They stopped in Odyysey Sky for a few days. There, Slara found many friends and decided to transfer here one day when she Impressed. Piassa disaggreed greatly with her spouse's decision to visit his old Weyr. Rather reluctantly, they left Odyssey Sky Weyr to head for Gathis Weyr. They arrived there in a few sevendays. Of course, they Queens were still sterile, and R'gel's plan of his daughter Impressing were diminished. Gathis had accepted R'gel and his family with open arms, but they weren't quite as happy as they thought they should be.
There, Slara saw her first Hatching Sand. She sat on a ledge where the dragons would've sat. The sands were still warm, but dark and barren. She, of course, thought that was all Sands were about. But that was only one weyr. Sometime durning the next Turn, Searchriders came. Slara wasn't interested. She thought that dragons weren't all that great. Sure, she loved her father's dragon, but that was it. Somehow, though, Slara became Searched. During the sevenday she was getting prepared, her father went out on a joyride and vanished into /between/. Slara now, obviously, had her doubts about Impression; if dragons could do that to their own rider, what would stop her own? Her mother assured her that a dragon would never do that to her, and something must've scared her father's into flying /between/. So, Slara then with the Karath Weyr Searchriders, to soon become a dragonrider.
