I consider myself an artist, and had I not been discouraged from a career in graphic design and illustrative arts by my family, would probably be employed in that industry now. Art was always my best subject through school and one of my favorite hobbies outside of school. My works include several pencil and ink drawings, acrylic, water, and oil painting, pencil crayon works, and even chalk and charcoal. My first works on the computer were completely unsatisfactory, finding there was no graphic software support initially for my computer, drawing programs came later but the 8 bit color palette did not permit enough color for detailed work. The Amiga had given me the creative software packages I desired to work with, and each sofware revision expanded on the capabilities in graphics design. The Amiga moved my desktop publishing capabilities beyond the primitive and crude to almost magazine quality with desktop publishing software that included vector graphic tools and the first filters I had seen for graphics software. Despite the expense, I invested in graphics software for my computer, foregoing the HTML software and learning to code HTML in NotePad. The investment has since paid off in stunning graphics, and many satisfied customers. When my strategy towards the graphics and productivity paid off, I added a digital camera and high resolution flat bed scanner to the system to expand my capabilities. There was a down side to this productivity... lack of hard drive storage space, forcing me to resort to a CD Writer to archive the numerous files and graphics. 
These days anything from a magazine layout to a simple business card design is coming out of my office. I have even created still frame and full motion cable T.V. advertising for customers, and have created CD photo albums from family and customer photos, overlay screens for credits and titling on videography, animations, Flash animations for email and web greetings, Shockwave presentations, and Windows Media Player mpeg video. If it requires images or graphics, you'll find me up to my elbows in it! FACT! - I started drawing at the age of three and never drew stick images, everything had to have some 3 dimensional shaping and shading to it... even back then! |
