My web publishing skills have loaned themselves to my other hobbies, with many other pages having been created for my other interests. Like many other people, although not a hobby, one of my keenest interests is in my pet of choice, the domestic rat. A rat owner and breeder for over 25 years, I had the opportunity to introduce this unique animal to many new owners that have since used my page as reference. Age and failing eyes (I'll blame that on excessive hours in front of my monitor) have curtailed my love for needlework, although I still do some counted cross-stitch and embroidery work. There was a time that I would not hesitate to pick up a needlework project and work endless hours on it, now I have to limit myself to an hour at most... need new glasses, I suppose! With having the software to develop my own cross-stitch patterns from photos and my original art, I've continued to create patterns that I hope to market. Please don't think me odd, but I also love to wrench on vehicles and restore classic and vintage pick up trucks. This has been a passionate hobby that I've had since my early teens. Because of my mechanical and historic knowledge of vehicles my position as webmaster and co-editor of edmontonwheels.com was a natural, and has lead to memberships in the local car clubs. I attend at least two car club meets per week, with camera and camcorder on hand to capture the beauty of these pieces of automotive history. Reading is one of my favorite relaxation and recreational outlets. Most of my library constist on non-fiction and centers around environmental issues, theories on the origins of life and the ancient structures that remain with us today. I also enjoy new age theories and theology... I know, dry stuff! Then again, I can be found reading some of the most intense manuals, totally absorbed as though it were a novel with fixating content. Learning is a passion that I did not abandoned after completing school, and since learning comes naturally to me I tend to read quite a few manuals and journals of scientific and technological content. MORE! - Used to scuba dive and spent every Summer on a lighthouse station, until an auto accident damage an ear so can no longer dive beyond 8 feet without pain, same accident tore the cartlidge from one knee preventing me from skiing again. |
