or at least that's what the tour book claims....and it is. adare is a lovely small town with lots of thatched houses, a spiffy manor hotel and funky ruins. and we saw it all!
my sister has two odd desires...to ahhhhh over thatched roof houses and chase lambs across the countryside. we'll get back to the sheep.
the first thing off the bus, carrie and emily wandered into someone's front yard...the thatch was irresistable!
after a quick lunch in another thatched roof house, we explored the adare manor. while we avoided the hotel part, there was a nice ruined hut to wander through.
well by this time we had seen everything in town. so we headed down the road to find more ruins.
behind me is a ruined castle that is being restored. can you guess where the bathrooms were?
and here's carrie and em hanging out along the same road...
i seem to have a lot of pictures of my sister acting like a ham. it must have been all that thatch!
luckily adare is a small town. we were able to wander through it with plenty of time left over for more wandering in limerick....
