Answers to Prayer and Providential Blessings

Answer 47 Stark Reality

 

 

We weren't hungry yet, nor were we any where near starvation, but we face stark reality that we might have to under go a forced period of fasting because our check card had not arrived as expected and we had nothing with which to purchase food

 

 

September 7, 1999, the day after Labor Day week end, we were looking for our check card in the mail. Beverily had forwarded it last Thursday from Michigan via priority mail. The check I gave Mr. Lee had not yet cleared the bank. We ran out of grocery money over the weekend.

 

 

For a moment, as realization sunk in that Sevilla and I were facing a very real problem, we bowed our heads in prayer, asking the Lord to bless us. We considered who, of our few acquaintances in Susanville might loan us some money, finally deciding to call Claudia and James, our former Land Lords.

 

 

Sevilla called Claudia who graciously responded to our needs. An hour later, James arrived at our room and gave us $25.00 in cash. We thanked him and praised the Lord.

 

 

Earlier in the day, the Land Lord at the Pink Kozee, had assured us that we had not received any mail at either the Kozee or the Diamond view, however, half and hour after we purchased some groceries, she knocked on our door with a belligerent attitude and the priority envelope containing our Visa Card and announced that a package had arrived for Sevilla and was at the Diamond View Motel. ???

 

 

When I stopped at the Diamond View for the package, Mr. Lee handed me $100.00. My check had at last cleared the bank.

In one hour, the Lord answered our prayer for food and cash. Our immediate problems were resolved. Praise the Lord.
