Cameron really enjoyed his trip to New Zealand, and the family enjoyed
seeing him in the flesh. He behaved himself wonderfully, despite the running around
we did. Jeanette worked out that we stayed in six different places
in the three weeks. Essentially, he only ever had trouble settling on the first night in any of these places, and after that it was a breeze (until the next change of place !!). There's some good photos from the trip in his (redesigned) Photo Album. The 'plane ride was no problem at all for him, and in fact, on the way there he seemed to be positively enjoying himself. Jeanette had a bit of a problem the first few days we were back, because he'd got used to all the attention, then all of a sudden she was the only at his beck and call (I'd gone back to work). |
He's got some problems now, though. For about a month now, we could see his teeth through his gums, and just this week, they've started to break through. It's very painfull for him, and more than stressfull for Jeanette. We've got some jelly for his gums, which relieves some of the pain, but it's only temporary.
His biggest relief seems to be sleep, and the three of us are lucky there at least. he's been going to sleep with the sun, and with daylight saving ended and the nights drawing in, this means he's going to sleep at 8:30 or earlier.
Cameron's Aunty Rosemary and Cousin Gary went shopping the day he was
born, and bought him the statutory All Black
jumper. I think he's taken to it, and judging by the attitude (and dribbling), we have a front row forward in the making ..... That's his Aunty Irene holding him back from his adoring public. |
We stayed with Pete and Janine near Nelson. This is their son Matthew. The need for gratuitous name dropping suggests that I include a link for Janine's famous cousin. |
Talking of gratuitous, you've got to like a museum that has one of these in the coffee shop ...... |
We're in the midst of a little battle between the people who want an airport in my backyard, and the good guys (thats the one's against the airport) ...
