BirdSource/Cornell Lab of Ornithology
BirdSource is a national database of bird sighting information. It is a joint venture of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. The Cornell Lab is home to the largest collection of bird songs in the world. See the past results of Christmas Bird Counts for over 100 years! See results of "Citizen Science" programs like Project Feederwatch, the Great Backyard Bird Count, the House Finch Disease Survey and Project Pigeonwatch. More advanced birders help with studies like the Golden-winged Warbler Atlas Project. This is the future of Birding. Hillman Marsh Conservation Area
This Conservation Area is located in the heart of one of the region's most significant wetlands. Take a walk along the 4.5 km trail through the marsh, or explore the area by canoe. The area also offers one full kilometre of the best and lesser known beaches in Essex County. Bring your camera along and get a shot of the mural on the side of the nature centre, the abundant waterfowl, shorebirds and beautiful marshscapes. Visit in the spring for excellent birding.

Holiday Beach Conservation Area
This Conservation Area is renowned for its birding. In the fall, Holiday Beach is the site of the spectacular migration of hawks, vultures, eagles, falcons and other birds of prey.

I have been fascinated for years by "Wild Bill Lishman". From Father Goose and C'Mon Geese to the 20/20 Special to the major motion picture Fly Away Home. His dream of helping to save endangered species such as the whooping crane through "flying them home" with his ultralight aircraft has been realized. He and his untiring followers have made an incredible contribution towards their conservation. A great page!!!!
