For five generations in the Heintz family the oldest son was named George. The Heintz homestead still remains in the family. William Heintz's grandson presently lives there.

George Heintz was a shinglemaker. He was born in 1839 in Goose Hill, Sheldon NY and spent his entire life of the same homestead. He died in 1899. George had one sister Margaret. She married William Merlau and lived all her life on Goose Hill next to her brother.

Sidonie came to this country with her parents when she was seventeen years of age. Her parents settled on Four Rod Road in the town of Marilla. After working in the general store in Marilla for three years, she married George Heintz and moved to the Heintz homestead.
