BIOGRAPHY:
ADEL GEORGE HANSEN RITES HELD MONDAY
Funeral services for Adel George Hansen were held Monday, Feb. 9, at the Slininger Chapel in Jefferson with Dr. J. W. Marlin, pastor of the First Methodist Church in charge.
Casket bearers were Lawrence Saunders, Ralph Held, Raymond Hobbs, Vern Marten, Art Gilliam and Ralph Yepsen. M. S. Applegate sang "In the Garden" accompanied by Mrs. Curtis Wilson. Interment was in Jefferson Cemetery.
Adel George Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hansen, was born on Mar. 7, 1904, in Rutland, Iowa, and died Feb. 6, 1959, in Jefferson at the age of 54 years, nine months and 29 days.
He grew to manhood in and around Rutland and May 21, 1926, he was united in marriage to Iola Mae Dolder at Humboldt, Iowa. To this union four children were born.
Preceding him in death were his father and two sons, Darrell Roy, who died in infancy and Alvin Adel (twin of Elden) who died Apr. 13, 1945.
He is survived by his wife; his mother of Humboldt, Iowa; one son and his wife, Elden and Veva Hansen of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter and her husband, Doreen and Paul Wilber of Jefferson; two grandchildren, Karen and Kathy Hansen of Kansas City; other relatives and a host of friends.
