Young Clinton Smith my great-grandfather through my father's family. Clinton fought in the Civil War in the 62nd Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company D. He Enlisted August 30, 1862. He fought in the First Battle of Fredricksburg and was wounded on December 13, 1862 in the left side and left arm. Clinton was discharged on December 26, 1863 with 16 months service.

My Great-Grandfather Clinton Shade Smith with my great-grandmother Elizabeth
Siggins Smith. Clinton, one of twelve brothers and sisters, was born
in Clinton county near Lock Haven Pennsylvania in 1843. Elizabeth was born
to George Simpson Siggins and Rachel Dawson Siggins of West Hickory Pennsylvania
in 1851.
