Family Pictures and Southern Civil War Links

A.K. Goodhart, my Great -Grandfather. "Kirt" lied about his age and enlisted in the GAR. His father had been a doctor. Dr George did not stop caring for his patients during the influenza breakout in 1852 even though he himself was ill. One night his horse came home without him. He was found dead lying along the road were he had fallen from his horse.

My grandmother Mary Florence Goodhart.
Clinton Shade Smith, my Great-grandfather was one of twelve children. He was wounded in the first Battle of Fredricksburg in Decemder of 1862. My Uncle can remeber in the 1920's that my Great -grandfather's wound still had not completely healed. Clinton never regained use of his left arm.

My Grandfather, Charles Francis Smith.
My Mother and Father

Thanks to my brotherfor this arrangement of Lorena.

More Civil War Links

I feel both sides of this great conflict have something to share. Even though my ancestors fought for the North, here are some great "Southern" links for the Civil War.
