My Internet Contract

To print this contract, go to this page and print.

1. I will discuss my Internet usage with my parents. This means we will set guidelines for how long I may stay online, which sites I am allowed to visit, rules for chatting and emailing people I may meet on the Internet.

2. I will not give out any personal information including my name, address, phone number, parent's names, town or email address without discussing it with my parents first.

3. I will tell my parents whenever I discover a site that makes me uncomfortable. I can always leave a site by clicking on the back button.

4. If someone makes me feel uncomfortable, it is O.K. to leave the conversation by leaving the room or turning off the computer. I should tell my parents so that they may contact the server or the site.

5. I will be polite when talking or writing others on the Internet. The only exception to this rule is if someone makes me feel uncomfortable. I should not be rude, but just leave the site or chat.

6. I should never agree to meet someone from the Internet without first asking my parent's permission. If they allow the meeting, an adult should accompany me. All meetings should be held in a public place.

The following are rules that my parents have added to this contract.

I, ________________________, agree to these rules. All changes to these rules must first be discussed with and agreed upon by my parents. These rules will be posted near the computer at all times as a reminder of my responsibility as a S.K.I.P. Certified Surfer.
