Current Favorites

Survivor

After 7 seasons of surviving the elements, and each other, in various locales, the 8th season begins on February 1, 2004, and will be an All Star show. Contestants from previous seasons will vie to be the sole Survivor. Airing on CBS on Thursdays at 8pm eastern.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

A fascinating, dramatized look at crime scene investigation. Airing on CBS on Thursdays at 9pm eastern.

Without A Trace

Starring Anthony LaPaglia as Jack Malone, the head the Missing Persons bureau of the FBI in New York, the show follows Jack and his team each week as they search for a missing person. Good acting, a lot of tension and suspense, and a chance to help find a real missing person at the end of each show. Thursdays at 10pm, after CSI, on CBS.

Old Favorites, no longer in production

Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Once in every generation, there is born the Chosen One. Join Buffy Summers as she battles the undead, and tries to find a social life. Created by Academy and Emmy Award nominated Joss Whedon, Buffy is one of the best written, well acted shows around, with superb character development. Buffy enjoyed a 7 year run on two different networks. Now in reruns on FX.

Angel

A centuries-old vampire cursed with a soul and a conscience, Angel (David Boreanaz, "Valentine") has taken up residence in Los Angeles, the City of Angels. Between pervasive evil and countless temptations lurking beneath the city's glittery facade, L.A. has proven to be the ideal address for a fallen vampire looking to save a few lost souls and, in turn, perhaps redeem his own. A spinoff of Buffy, Academy and Emmy Award-nominated writer Joss Whedon continues to humorously explore the twists and turns of adulthood set against a backdrop of supernatural adventure in the fifth season of Angel. Airing on UPN Wednesday's, at 9pm eastern. Also in reruns on TNT at 5pm eastern, Monday through Friday.

Enterprise

Only 150 years into our future, before Kirk, Picard, Sisco and Janeway, join Captain Jonathan Archer and the crew of the first Starship Enterprise as they make humanity's first forays into deep space, and first contacts with alien races. On UPN Wednesday's, 8pm eastern, or check your local listings.

Andromeda

Created by Gene Rodenberry, of Star Trek fame, Andromeda follows the exploits of Captain Dylan Hunt and his sentient warship, the Andromeda Ascendent. After being suspended in time for 300 years, Captain Hunt and Andromeda awaken to find their world turned upside down. The Commonwealth they fought for is destroyed, and Dylan recruits a ragtag crew to help him restore it. Now in it's 5th season, check your local listings for showtimes.

Babylon 5

"Babylon 5 is the story of the last of the Babylon stations, the last hope for a galaxy without war. It begins in the year 2257 with the opening of the Babylon 5 station...Unlike most television series, Babylon 5 is a single story, completely planned out from day one with a beginning, middle, and end. Each episode is enjoyable on its own, but is also a piece of a larger whole, a chapter in a five-year-long novel for television." from The Lurkers Guide To Babylon 5

Babylon 5 returns to the SCI FI Channel lineup on March 31, 2003, weekdays at 9AM ET/PT.

Farscape

It's the not-too-distant future. John Crichton, while testing an experimental space drive, piloted himself through a wormhole to parts unknown. Join him and a rag-tag crew of escaped prisoners, on a living spaceship, as they try to find a way home for Crichton, and avoid being captured. Originally planned for at least 5 seasons, Farscape was cancelled prematurely after only 4, angering and puzzling many fans and critics. A Save Farscape campaign failed, but there are rumors of a movie to tie up the loose ends. Reruns are on the SciFi Channel at various times, check the schedule.

John Doe

Imagine waking up naked in the middle of the forest, with no memory of who you are, what your name is, where you're from, even what foods you like, and bearing a mysterious brand on your chest. Then imagine discovering that you seem to be a walking, talking encyclopedia, possessing knowledge of everything imaginable, but not knowing how you know all this. This is the life of John Doe, who is trying to find out who, or what, he is, and what mysterious agency is following his every move. Cancelled after only one season, it was a critical favorite, but suffered poor ratings.

The X-Files

Uncover government conspiracies, search for aliens, fight a monster or two. After a spectacular 9 year run on FOX, X-Files reruns can now be found on the SciFi channel, and other syndicated stations.

Star Trek: The Next Generation

It's the Starship Enterprise, with Captain JeanLuc Picard in the captain's chair. Personally my favorite of the Trek incarnations. It enjoyed a seven year run, and is now being rerun on Spike TV.

Star Trek: Voyager

On a routine mission, Voyager is catapulted through a wormhole and lands in the far reaches of the galaxy, which they call the Delta Quadrant. Join Captain Janeway and her crew as they set a course for home, and along the way seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldy go where no one has gone before. Voyager enjoyed a 7 year run, and is now in syndication. Check your local listings for reruns.

Highlander

"THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE. He is Immortal, born years ago, in the highlands of Scotland. He is not alone. There are others like him, some good, some evil. For centuries he has battled the forces of darkness, with Holy Ground his only refuge. He cannot die, unless you take his head and with it, his power. In the end there can be only one. He is Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander." Now in reruns on Spike TV

Witchblade

Sara Pezzini was just an average NYC detective, until she came in contact with a magical bracelet, which transforms itself into a powerful gauntlet that gives Sara extraordinary powers. Join Sara as she battles evil, and tries to discover the mystery of her life and of the Witchblade. Based on the popular comic, Witchblade aired on TNT for only 2 short seasons.

Prey

Global warming has caused the emergence of a new species of human. It's survival of the fittest, and we're the prey. This series had a short, 13 episode run.

Sliders

Imagine yourself moving through a vortex to another dimension, where you're the same person, but everything else is different. Alternate universes at their best. A show that was cancelled by FOX, then picked up by the SciFi channel, where the series ended after 5 seasons. Reruns currently showing on the SciFi channel.

A kitten's work
Is never done.
There's air to chase--
Ten ways to run.

It takes all day
To fill my eyes
With sunny grass
And butterflies.
