UPDATED JUNE 25,2006

Music is "Color of the Wind".

Dye experiments done on Dec.30, 2005.
Methods used were Cold Pad and KoolAid.
This is page 1. More of the silk is on the next page and
keep going to see the results of silk reeling.
The first 4 are cold pad on wool.
NZ roving and Merino.

Below are some of the KoolAid on wool batt. I this is on Suffolk wool.
When using KoolAid for dye we had fun
with the "twisted" flavors.

The colors K. used are as follows, for the Mohair:
Arctic Green Apple.....clear green
Cherry----red
Wyler's Grape...red purple and brown
1/2 Berry Blue and 1/2 Black Cherry....dusty rose
1/2 Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonaide and 1/2 Wyler's Lemonaide....soft light green
(mixtures had much more water added to them than top three)

Suffolk
Cherry Twister.....Robin's egg blue
Tropical Punch....deep fushia pink (almost Chinese red)
Mystery Twister....pale yellow-green

Multi-colored fleece used Berry Blue (aqua blue), Black Cherry (red),
Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonaide (blue) and Wyler's Lemonaide (soft yellow).

Pink and white fleece was left-over Cherry with extra water.

She used 2 pkgs to start, mixed with 2 oz. vinegar and 6 oz. water. Added more water to cover.

In her opinion, the best results color-wise
were from Arctic Green Apple, Cherry Twister,
Tropical Punch, Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade,
Cherry, and Berry Blue (in that order).

These colors were from "Changing Cherry""Lemon-Lime""Black Cherry"

I took some of the pictures at my friend's house trying
to get a shot with the sun out.
The ones on the railing were taken at my place
and I had some sun.
K.s Changing Cherry dyed differently on her wool.
She got a much bluer color. I think I will do little swatches of
different breeds with the KoolAid
and maybe add some silk hankies.

To see the silk from this batch and the ones
done on Jan,10 with KoolAid try the next page.
