A short but breathtaking skiplane flight from an airstrip to land on a glacier on Mt. Cook's flanks brought us to this pristine spot.


What better place for these two California girls to have a much-needed snowball fight?


The whole group soon got into the spirit of lobbing big wet snowballs. The views weren't half bad, either.


This glorious view of Mt. Cook bid us farewell as our plane took us back from the slopes of New Zealand's highest peak.


While the girls played with Grandma, Kyle and Mary took a scenic hike across fields of wildflowers and were treated to some gorgeous views of the mountain.


As sunset approaches, Mary took in the scenery along our nature walk.


Chloe, Celeste, and Alyssa played their patented "Buffalheimer" game with Mt. Cook in the background. If you want the rules of the game, you'll have to ask the girls.
